About The Position

The Housekeeping/Environmental Services Attendant cleans assigned hospital areas using germicidal cleaning solutions and follows departmental procedures for cleaning outpatient and sterile processing areas. The role includes completing scheduled procedures thoroughly, maintaining continuity between shifts, collecting waste and soiled linen, and supporting room and event setup. The position is full-time, with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds and be mobile.
Ability to read and understand simple verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations, and to use proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

Wash furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
Wash walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, televisions, and windows; strip and make patient beds; sweep and mop hard floors; and vacuum carpet.
Clean outpatient and sterile processing areas using appropriate cleaning solutions and departmental procedures.
Complete all cleaning procedures scheduled during the shift without sacrificing quality.
Complete work left from previous shifts and report incomplete assignments to support continuity of procedures.
Collect waste from hospital areas and sanitize waste cans.
Collect soiled linen.
Collect hazardous waste as established by the Infection Control Committee.
Climb ladders to hang cubicles or window drapes and to reach high areas for cleaning.
Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs.
