About The Position
Newberry County Memorial Hospital, a 90-bed Joint Commission-accredited community hospital, is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic I to help maintain a safe, functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The position performs maintenance and repair tasks involving electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and equipment repairs. The stated schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Training is provided for operating and maintaining listed equipment and systems.
Requirements
- Minimum high school education level is required.
Nice To Haves
- Trade or vocational school, completion of an apprenticeship, or on-the-job training in a maintenance field.
- Specialty journeyman experience, such as electrician, pipefitting, or boilermaker.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Safely operate and maintain a drill press, grinder, electric saws, router, 501 Tester, and Safety Analyzer 170.
- Perform boiler start-up and shut-down and chiller start-up and shut-down.
