About The Position
Apple Services Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager for its Cloud Infrastructure team to drive programs focused on Apple’s Cloud Observability and Storage Platforms. These platforms support workloads across Apple and must scale globally while remaining highly available, performant, secure, and reliable. The role partners with a diverse set of teams and engineering partners across Apple to manage and improve the platforms behind critical cloud services. The program manager is expected to understand complex systems and subtle interdependencies, evaluate new requests and information in context, and persistently reduce ambiguity and complexity. Success requires building trust, influencing without direct authority, communicating clearly, collaborating effectively, and thoughtfully evaluating competing approaches in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as an engineering program manager in the cloud infrastructure domain, specifically in observability and cloud storage.
- Strong background in software delivery and services infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency in software development processes (SDLC) and familiarity with various project management methodologies.
- Experience with risk analysis and developing, prioritizing, and leading roadmaps.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or deep relevant industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and polished presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Expertise coordinating and participating in requirements-gathering and design-brainstorming sessions.
- Experience leading multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Leadership, decision-making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority.
- Proven record defining processes, developing metrics, executing against them, and driving program maturity and process optimization.
- Strong social and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust, communicate openly, collaborate, and thoughtfully debate approaches.
Nice To Haves
- Prior engineering, infrastructure, or software development program management experience for Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drive programs focused on building Apple’s Cloud Observability and Storage Platforms.
