Role Summary: The Sr. Director, Team Lead, OLL is a leadership role within the Global Commercial Strategy organization, reporting to the Portfolio Marketing & Operations Lead. This role is responsible for leading a team of - Global Opinion Leader Liaison (OLL) colleagues across therapeutic areas, such as Vaccines and Inflammation & Immunology (I&I), ensuring a coordinated, compliant, and high-impact approach to opinion leader and key stakeholder engagement across priority brands and portfolio workstreams. The OLL team plays a critical role in creating a first-class external stakeholder engagement experience by developing and executing opinion leader strategies, gathering actionable insights, enabling congress and medical education engagement, and helping Medical, Clinical, Commercial, Public Affairs, and HEOR teams understand evolving treatment, prevention, and customer dynamics. This leader will set the operating model, quality standards, and engagement discipline needed to support portfolio priorities while strengthening cross-brand learning and execution across both therapeutic areas. The Sr. Director will partner closely with brand leads, Global Commercial Leads, Medical Affairs, R&D, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Global Access Strategy & Pricing (GASP) , Business Analytics & Insights, MEET, US and International Commercial teams, and other enabling functions to ensure opinion leader insights and engagement plans are strategically aligned to brand and portfolio priorities. This role requires strong people leadership, enterprise judgment, stakeholder influence, and the ability to build team capability while operating in a complex, highly matrixed, AI-enabled commercial environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, commercial strategy, medical affairs, customer engagement, opinion leader engagement, stakeholder engagement, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including managing colleagues across levels in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience designing, developing, and executing opinion leader or key stakeholder engagement strategies, including insight gathering, engagement planning, and performance tracking.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial strategy, brand planning, launch readiness, lifecycle management, KOL network mapping, congress engagement, and/or MedEd execution.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and build alignment across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience and understanding the live HCP meeting process in a compliant manner working with the MEET colleagues, Amex GBT, and on-sight TDs.
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and trustworthiness in handling confidential or sensitive organizational matters.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Vaccines, Inflammation & Immunology, specialty care, or other complex therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of opinion leader engagement, HCP strategy, congress planning, MedEd support, advisory boards, stakeholder mapping, and insight generation.
  • Experience working across Global, US, Emerging Markets, and International commercial organizations and with Medical, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, GASP, Public Affairs, BAI, and agency partners.

  • Track record of improving engagement models, operating processes, tools, templates, metrics, or ways of working.

  • Comfort operating in an AI-enabled or AI-augmented environment; experience using AI tools to support synthesis, planning, or operational efficiency is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, lead through transformation, and make sound decisions in complex, fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Global Opinion Leader Liaison colleagues across therapeutic areas, such as vaccines and I&I.
  • Set individual and team priorities, provide coaching and performance feedback, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, agility, and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing OLL team with deep external engagement capabilities, disease area fluency, and the ability to flex across brand and portfolio priorities.
  • Develop colleagues by strengthening engagement craft, insight generation, executive communication, compliant ways of working, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
  • Foster a team culture that elevates quality, strengthens enterprise alignment, and reinforces Pfizer Values in every internal and external interaction.
  • Lead development of an integrated OLL strategy across TAs that supports brand, launch, lifecycle, and portfolio priorities.
  • Ensure opinion leader and key stakeholder engagement plans are strategically aligned, insight-driven, coordinated across functions, and grounded in clear objectives.
  • Guide the team in building and maintaining prioritized opinion leader and key stakeholder landscapes, engagement plans, and compliant interaction models.
  • Oversee insight gathering from 1:1 engagements, small-group interactions, advisory boards, congresses, and other external forums to inform commercial strategy and execution.
  • Enhance the external stakeholder engagement experience by driving consistency, preparation, follow-through, and coordination across Pfizer touchpoints while ensuring everything is done compliantly following Pfizer HCP policies and guidelines.
  • Provide leadership oversight for OLL contributions to congress, MedEd, advisory board, HCP consulting, and external engagement planning across TAs.
  • Ensure congress and MedEd engagement plans include clear objectives, stakeholder priorities, discussion guides, insight capture approaches, and post-engagement follow-up.
  • Partner with Clinical, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, brand teams, MEET, and agency partners to ensure engagement activities are high quality, strategically aligned, and appropriately executed.
  • Guide coordination of opinion leader engagement opportunities, including congress interactions, speaker-related engagement, advisory input, and connections to internal subject matter experts as appropriate.
  • Establish expectations for tracking engagement outcomes, congress learnings, stakeholder feedback, and implications for brand and portfolio strategy.
  • Ensure opinion leader insights are synthesized into clear implications that inform HCP strategy, content priorities, market development, evidence generation considerations, and lifecycle planning.
  • Partner with brand and commercial leaders to translate external stakeholder perspectives into actionable recommendations and decision support.
  • Identify cross-portfolio themes, emerging stakeholder needs, treatment and prevention trends, and opportunities to improve engagement strategies across Vaccines and I&I.
  • Support leadership discussions by elevating high-value insights, risks, opportunities, and strategic implications from OLL engagements.
  • Establish and maintain operating norms, engagement processes, quality standards, and metrics for the OLL Vaccines & I&I team.
  • Drive a consistent and compliant approach to opinion leader engagement in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Medical, Clinical, Public Affairs, and other relevant functions.
  • Develop and track team performance indicators, including engagement quality, insight utility, stakeholder experience, follow-through, and brand team satisfaction.
  • Standardize tools, templates, engagement planning processes, and insight capture approaches to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce friction, strengthen coordination, and improve the value delivered by the OLL model.
  • Serve as the primary interface for OLL team priorities with brand leads, Global Commercial Leads, Medical Affairs, R&D, GASP, Public Affairs, BAI, Legal, Compliance, and US and International Commercial teams.
  • Represent the OLL team in leadership updates, portfolio discussions, and relevant stakeholder forums.
  • Coordinate across therapeutic areas to identify shared needs, reduce duplication, and enable cross-brand learning where appropriate.
  • Influence without direct authority by aligning senior stakeholders around engagement priorities, insight needs, and implications for commercial strategy.
  • Set expectations for AI-enabled ways of working across the OLL team, ensuring tools and workflows support insight synthesis, engagement planning, and operating efficiency.
  • Champion responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools to improve speed, quality, consistency, and scalability of stakeholder engagement planning and insight generation.
  • Partner with GCS leadership and enabling functions to identify opportunities to embed AI into repeatable workflows, templates, metrics, and team routines.
  • Build team capability and confidence in compliant, AI-augmented commercial execution through coaching, best-practice sharing, and reinforcement of quality standards.
  • Use performance insights, stakeholder feedback, and team learnings to continuously improve AI-enabled ways of working across the OLL model.
