Sr. Design Engineer

Niagara Bottling•Diamond Bar, CA
•$99,618 - $144,446

About The Position

The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for the initial and ongoing evaluation, feasibility analyses, and optimization of Niagara’s Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) system designs. These systems include product water processing, wastewater processing, cooling and chilled water, high- and low-pressure compressed air, steam processes, HVAC, natural gas processes, and bottling and injection molding production equipment. The role assesses systems and utility consumption, evaluates potential improvements, troubleshoots plant challenges, and develops cost, equipment, and materials analyses. It creates and maintains standard-process documentation, utility balances, electrical single-line diagrams and loads, utility consumption records, control and operation plans, and bid packages for equipment and contracted work. The engineer evaluates, justifies, designs, bids, and supports execution of utility upgrades and solutions to plant challenges. Work may include improving cooling capacity and flows, optimizing pressures, and improving compressed-air systems and the sequencing of compressors or chillers. The role also provides onsite startup and commissioning support, adjusts processes, creates commissioning reports, and documents system operating parameters against manufacturer designs. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between in-office system design and hands-on troubleshooting and analysis on the manufacturing floor, and working directly with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional customers. The position may require 25% travel.
