Design Engineer Sr.

Ameron Pole Products•Tulsa, OK

About The Position

The Senior Design Engineer develops new products and improves existing products to address customer needs, expand market opportunities, and strengthen Ameron’s competitive position. The role evaluates product concepts for structural performance, functionality, manufacturability, and cost, and develops engineering calculations, models, drawings, renderings, and technical documentation to support evaluation and implementation. The position plans and supports prototyping and testing, evaluates results, and refines designs. It establishes design methods and technical guidance that transition new products and options into routine engineering and production workflows. The engineer also supports the shop by clarifying design requirements and resolving manufacturing-related technical questions, incorporating production feedback to improve manufacturability while maintaining required performance. The role maintains and improves engineering analysis methods and software for applicable design codes, products, materials, and requirements. It translates engineering requirements into documented calculation methods and software functionality, advances existing tools toward integrated engineering applications, and builds consistency, automation, and traceability across the design workflow. Calculations and software outputs are verified and validated against established methods, independent checks, and test results where appropriate, with assumptions, limitations, revisions, and validation results documented.
