About The Position

The Senior CDI Systems and Analytics Analyst serves as the dedicated technical and analytical resource for CDI leadership. The analyst translates operational requests into reliable data extracts, validated reports, system requirements, workflow changes, and practical automation. The role supports Solventum implementation and ongoing optimization, working with CDI, coding, quality, IT, enterprise analytics, and vendor teams. The analyst completes assigned technical work, documents accuracy, and follows issues through resolution. CDI leadership sets priorities and approves clinical content; the analyst provides supporting data, configuration, testing, and reporting within authorized system access. This is a remote, full-time position. Recent hands-on experience with both Solventum CDI applications and Epic is required. The analyst is the primary subject matter expert for the Solventum–Epic CDI environment, leading reporting, analytics, workflow optimization, integration support, testing, and system validation. Applicants must have permanent U.S. work status (U.S. citizen or Green Card holder) and reside and work within the continental United States. The role involves regular video-based collaboration and frequent presentations and demonstrations of Solventum and Epic CDI solutions. The position prepares and reconciles secure data transfers; develops and validates reports, dashboards, extracts, and work queues; translates leadership requests into system and workflow specifications; supports approved configuration and automation; and coordinates implementation testing and technical support. It maintains documentation, issue and request logs, testing records, release notes, and operating procedures. Clinical criteria and case determinations remain with designated clinical leaders, and patient information must be handled only in approved environments with appropriate access, audit trails, and human review for AI-assisted work. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience; at least five years of relevant healthcare application support, informatics, or analytics experience, including at least two years supporting CDI, coding, HIM, or inpatient revenue cycle systems; and hands-on Solventum or 3M application support and Epic reporting or workflow experience. Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel and Power Query, and Power BI or Tableau is required, along with working knowledge of inpatient CDI and coding workflows and experience writing requirements, mapping workflows, testing changes, and managing technical issues across teams. The company offers a remote, predictable, full-time schedule; competitive salary commensurate with experience; medical, dental, and vision coverage; long-term disability and life insurance; parental leave; a 401(k) with company match; certification and tuition reimbursement; holidays; and paid time off.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, validate, and securely submit authorized raw data files to Solventum; verify required fields, formats, delivery schedules, receipt, and processing results.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mappings and a data dictionary for encounter, patient, provider, payer, diagnosis, DRG, review, and query data.
  • Reconcile source, exported, and vendor-accepted records; identify and coordinate correction of missing or duplicate encounters, inaccurate values, mapping errors, rejected files, and delayed feeds.
  • Support baseline extraction, historical data retention, and migration validation during the transition from Iodine to Solventum; maintain reconciliation logs and exception lists.
  • Develop, run, and validate backend queries, extracts, dashboards, and reports in Solventum and Epic using authorized tools and data sources.
  • Build or modify Epic reports, dashboards, and work queues within assigned access, coordinating restricted builds with Epic analysts.
  • Validate report logic against source records and sample encounters, including filters, date fields, refresh timing, joins, exclusions, numerators, and denominators; investigate conflicting results before distribution.
  • Maintain reporting for review coverage, productivity, query response and agreement, reconciliation, CC and MCC capture, CMI, SOI and ROM, quality reviews, and denials; segment by facility, service line, payer, and reviewer, and distinguish concurrent from pre-bill activity.

  • Configure approved system changes where access and functionality permit; otherwise coordinate builds with Epic analysts, IT, and Solventum. Validate query routing, provider responses, encounter updates, and Epic–Solventum data flow; track changes through testing and release.
  • Create current- and future-state process maps, flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and responsibility matrices documenting roles, handoffs, decision points, exceptions, and turnaround expectations.
  • Support optimization of worklist prioritization, evidence sheets, nudges, and quality review pathways, including HAC, PSI, BSI, mortality, and clinical validity workflows; leave clinical criteria and case determinations to designated clinical leaders.
  • Analyze query response and closure patterns, unanswered queries, rejected recommendations, work queue aging, reconciliation delays, and opportunities missed between concurrent and pre-bill review; recommend data-supported changes.
  • Use organization-approved AI tools to help draft workflow maps, report specifications, SQL or scripts, query-template revisions, presentations, and analyses; verify generated logic and outputs before use.
  • Automate recurring data preparation, report compilation, quality checks, and exception tracking using approved tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, or Python; document dependencies and provide a repeatable manual fallback.
  • Support evaluation of Solventum AI outputs by assembling clinically reviewed samples, tracking accepted and rejected suggestions, investigating missed opportunities, and monitoring changes after updates.
  • Handle patient information only in approved environments and maintain appropriate access, audit trails, and human review for AI-assisted work; route clinical content and production changes through established approval processes.
  • Represent CDI technical requirements in implementation meetings and maintain a consolidated request backlog, issue log, dependencies, and status updates for CDI leadership.
  • Develop test scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing for extracts, reports, query workflows, interfaces, and application updates; document expected and actual results, defects, retesting, and release readiness.
  • Assess downstream effects of changes, maintain release notes, and coordinate rollback arrangements with responsible technical teams.
  • Troubleshoot CDI application and reporting issues, collect evidence, reproduce defects, open vendor tickets, escalate unresolved issues, and confirm resolutions with affected users.
