About The Position
Sonatafy Technology, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an award-winning nearshore software development company with a strong reputation. They have a dedicated in-house team of engineers, offering end-to-end software solutions and supporting client development staff augmentation. Catering to companies of all sizes and industries, including some of the world’s largest brands, Sonatafy Technology is a trusted provider of nearshore enterprise-level cloud and mobile application software development services. We are seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to join our Revenue team, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer. This role is critical to growing our presence in the Phoenix business and technology community. It focuses on opening doors with executives (CEOs, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, founders, and investors) and turning those relationships into qualified opportunities for our consulting, assessment, and Managed Delivery POD services. The ideal candidate is a business development hunter who would rather be in the room than behind a screen. They thrive in field selling, follow up relentlessly, and work hand in hand with marketing and sales leadership to close.
Requirements
- 7+ years in business development, relationship-driven sales, or strategic partnerships.
- Proven success generating qualified B2B opportunities on your own through outreach, networking, referrals, and partnerships.
- Business development experience in professional services such as software development, IT consulting, cloud services, or technology staffing, not only product sales.
- A proven history of building executive relationships and getting access to decision-makers.
- Willingness to be active in the Phoenix / AZ business community and build relationships from the ground up.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with marketing, shown through joint campaigns, account plans, or partner programs.
- Excellent organization, follow-up, and listening skills.
Nice To Haves
- An established network of Phoenix-area CEOs, CTOs, founders, or investors (highly preferred).
- Experience selling to fintech and health tech buyers.
- Experience selling to private equity operating partners or portfolio company leadership.
- Experience selling to CTO, VP of Engineering, and CPO buyers, or a background working alongside engineering teams.
- HubSpot experience with account-based pipelines, including sequences, stage management, and reporting.
- Familiarity with intent data, enrichment, and outbound tooling.
- Experience as a peer leader, team lead, or mentor to newer sellers.
- Prior experience helping build the sales process at a growth-stage services firm.
Responsibilities
- Attend Phoenix and Scottsdale area technology, founder, and investor events every month, and build a reputation as a trusted connector.
- Prospect on your own with a set weekly cadence of outreach, follow-up, and multi-threaded coverage of target accounts.
- Partner with marketing and the outbound team to turn account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns into qualified executive meetings.
- Co-host executive dinners, roundtables, and community events that bring target accounts and their peers together.
- Qualify each prospect’s business problem and decision-makers, then hand them off cleanly to sales for assessments, consulting engagements, and Managed Delivery PODs.
- Keep the executive relationship warm after handoff, and support sales and technical leadership through close.
- Keep HubSpot accurate, recording every meeting and opportunity with its source.
- Target once ramped: about 8 qualified executive meetings and 2–4 sales-accepted opportunities per month.
