About The Position

Medline is seeking a hands-on senior BI Developer/Analyst to develop and maintain business intelligence, data warehousing, and data engineering solutions. The role also creates and maintains detailed business requirements that describe data problems, opportunities, and solutions for supply chain business partners.

The position serves as a trusted BI contact for operational stakeholders, translating their questions into metric definitions, functional designs, and specifications. It builds and supports dashboards, reports, data models, pipelines, and web applications; helps modernize legacy reporting on a cloud platform; and ensures solutions are tested, documented, communicated, and adopted. The role also manages a portfolio of planned and ad-hoc work and mentors junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in BI development or data analytics supporting supply chain, distribution, or logistics operations.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and large datasets.
• Experience with Tableau, WebFOCUS, SSIS, or Alteryx, particularly migrating legacy reports to a cloud platform.
• Hands-on Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report design.
• Python or PySpark experience for data preparation and analysis.
• Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders and turning them into reports, data models, and written specifications.
• Working knowledge of core operations and supply chain metrics and how they are calculated.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining data and insights to audiences from frontline leaders to executives.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and work independently with minimal direction.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines, or Real-Time Intelligence, or with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, or Databricks.
• Experience with data governance and catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Alation.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Factory, or similar.
• Interest in applying AI and machine learning to operational problems such as forecasting and anomaly detection.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders from frontline supervisors to senior leaders and act as the BI contact for operational areas.
• Lead requirements sessions and translate operational questions into metric definitions, functional designs, and specifications.
• Map current workflows and data flows, document processes with diagrams, and recommend technology improvements.
• Identify dependencies across projects and domains and liaise between business partners and IT development teams.
• Design, build, and maintain Tableau and Power BI dashboards and reports tracking operational KPIs.
• Write performant SQL and build reusable data and semantic models on large operational datasets from warehouse, transportation, and ERP systems.
• Develop and maintain data transformations and pipelines in Microsoft Fabric and Azure, partnering with data engineers on larger platform work.
• Develop and maintain web applications using .NET technology.
• Enhance, support, and migrate legacy reporting, including WebFOCUS and SSIS, to the modern cloud platform.
• Own test planning and validation to ensure solutions are accurate before production.
• Document metric definitions, data lineage, and report logic, and contribute to development and delivery standards.
• Communicate changes and train users to promote adoption and trust in new reports.
• Prioritize a portfolio of planned and ad-hoc work and mentor junior team members.
