About The Position

We are seeking a strong Project Manager for a University to manage an application development team. The ideal candidate will be a local Pittsburgh PM who can support a hybrid onsite model, working 3 days a week onsite. This role requires strong project management experience in application development and/or modernization programs, stakeholder coordination, requirements management, delivery tracking, risk/dependency management, and comfort working in a complex university, healthcare, research, or enterprise environment. The goal of this position is to manage key technology projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) years of work experience implementing, managing, and maintaining multiple simultaneous technology projects.
  • Experience leading, to completion, enterprise level application or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple vendors and subcontractors.
  • Having or working toward attaining Project Management Institute Certification (i.e. Project Management Professional (PMP) status.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all relevant project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assist all departments involved in a project to set realistic goals and ensure technical feasibility of solutions.
  • Coordinate resource availability, alignment, and allocation across all departments both technical and non-technical to ensure project success.
  • Develop risk management plans and perform risk assessments.
  • Develop detailed work breakdown structures, monitor, and track progress against task completion.
  • Build and manage relationships with project team members and external partners.
  • Develop communication plans and consistently communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Lead change management of scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Assist in coordinating district-wide events and activities as designated.
  • Coordinate the development of and monitoring of budgets, including expenditures related to programs and grants.
  • Coordinate efforts of personnel outside scope of authority to achieve project goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.
