About The Position

Nationwide's Technology team is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Technology Engineer to support a Fortune 100 company. This role is part of the Data Dynamos team, which provides the operational backbone for Nationwide’s data governance platforms, including Alation, Anomalo, MANTA, and Semarchy. The team is responsible for platform stability, upgrades, issue resolution, monitoring, documentation, security activities, and day-to-day customer support. These capabilities are essential to keeping the platforms reliable and available for associates who depend on trusted data, metadata, and lineage services. The Sr. Analyst, Technology Engineer role is a key technical support position for these suites of tools, providing hands-on platform administration, connector and integration support, automation, release awareness, access management, and AWS-based engineering support. These responsibilities are directly tied to the availability, maintainability, and secure operation of the platform.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience developing and implementing integrated solutions.

  • Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and package solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge of planning, management and execution of the Accelerated Solutions Delivery framework are needed.
  • Information Security acumen, ability to influence, negotiate, and set priorities are also needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data platforms such as Alation, Snowflake, Databricks, etc. is a plus
  • Insurance or financial services industry knowledge is a plus
  • Technology certifications or designations are encouraged (i.e., AWS, Azure, scripting and development languages, delivery methods, security).

Responsibilities

  • Executes all aspects of capacity: driving requirements to meet current and future needs, tracking capacity postures.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Analyzes reports and delivery recommendations to remediate capacity issues.
  • Implements capacity enhancements.
  • Participates in technology/product optimization, migrations and management, including technology/product design, planning, power and environmental management.
  • Continuously improves and enhances existing environments.
  • Maintains proper hardware and software currency levels by working on recommended upgrades.
  • Conducts proactive system maintenance, disaster recovery planning, data backup and recovery as well as inventory, configuration and utility product management.
  • Executes production engineering processes, including incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, change management, release management and knowledge management.
  • Supports operational efforts to maintain environments.
  • Provides production support for technology platforms.
  • Assists with disaster and business recovery planning and testing.
  • Provides oversight for technical labs and development environments.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
