About The Position

Sparrow is hiring its first Strategic Finance professional to build the finance function from scratch. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Sr. Analyst will own financial models and analysis that inform business decisions, partner with the CFO on strategy, and independently lead execution. The role offers influence over how Strategic Finance is established as Sparrow scales.

The position includes ownership of the company's operating and headcount models, development of AI-powered workflows and automated analyses, and quantitative evaluation of strategic priorities and initiatives. The Sr. Analyst will deliver insights for go-to-market tactics, product decisions, budget allocations, Board and investor materials, leadership reporting, and cross-functional roadmaps. The role also supports long-range, annual, and quarterly planning and requires collaboration with partners across Sales, Engineering, Product, Operations, and Leadership.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, in-house FP&A, or strategic finance.
• Expert-level financial modeling ability and the ability to translate complex business drivers into clear, usable frameworks independently.
• Experience building something with AI, such as a model, workflow, or automated analysis, and interest in developing more AI-powered finance capabilities.
• Ability to identify problems proactively and work effectively when answers are not obvious.
• Strong bias for action, resilience through ambiguity, ownership, urgency, and a drive to deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Comfort working as the first Strategic Finance hire without an existing team to rely on.

• Experience with consumption-based or usage-based business models.

Responsibilities

• Own the company's financial models, including the operating model, headcount model, and models used to set goals and measure business performance.
• Build AI-powered workflows, automated analyses, and intelligence systems for the Strategic Finance function.
• Assess existing and potential strategic priorities, quantitatively validate them, and influence the company toward initiatives with the highest revenue impact and ROI.
• Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations for go-to-market tactics, product decisions, budget allocations, Board and investor materials, leadership reporting, and cross-functional roadmaps.
• Collaborate with partners across Sales, Engineering, Product, Operations, and Leadership.
• Contribute to long-range, annual, and quarterly planning, including the strategic plan.
