About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring owner-operators with their own Sprinter or cargo van under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, competitive per-mile rates, and personalized load recommendations based on the operator’s preferences. Rates may be negotiated with dispatchers, who each have more than four years of experience. Listed Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workdays are Monday through Friday. The company does not hire company drivers; applicants are applying to work as owner-operators.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or cargo van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinters must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting loads.

Nice To Haves

• Russian language ability is accommodated; the company also hires Russian speakers.
• A Hazmat certificate and TSA/TWIC credentials may affect the stated monthly earnings.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Provide and operate an eligible Sprinter or cargo van to accept company loads.
• Tell dispatchers what kinds of loads are preferred so they can offer personalized loads.
• Notify the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
• Submit vehicle registration and insurance.
• Ensure all drivers are approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
