About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers access to a large number of loads, dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts, and loads personalized to operators’ preferences. Rates may be negotiated with dispatchers. Advertised Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workday range is Monday through Friday. The posting gives a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials. The company does not hire company drivers.

Requirements

• Must own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or work authorization holder.
• The owner-operator and their drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and their drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Must have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinter vehicles must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• All vehicle decals must be removed.
• Must provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.

Responsibilities

• Operate a personally owned Sprinter or Cargo Van as an owner-operator under an independent contractor agreement.
• Accept loads from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER after being approved, accepted, and registered with the company.
• Communicate load preferences so dispatchers can offer suitable loads.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Inform the company of vehicle changes before putting the vehicle on the road.
