About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced spreadsheet professionals with strong expertise in Excel, Google Sheets, workbook maintenance, spreadsheet quality assurance, and structured data review. This role focuses on reviewing professional spreadsheets, documents, and presentation materials for accuracy, consistency, usability, and overall quality. Selected experts will evaluate workbook logic, formulas, calculations, formatting, data integrity, and cross-document consistency while providing clear, structured feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in spreadsheet quality assurance, workbook maintenance, spreadsheet analysis, data analysis, financial analysis, or a closely related field
  • Strong professional experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Advanced understanding of formulas, calculations, workbook structures, data validation, and spreadsheet maintenance
  • Experience reviewing complex workbooks for accuracy and consistency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle spreadsheet errors
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Native or professional fluency in English
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to provide precise, structured feedback

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate spreadsheets and workbooks for accuracy, completeness, and professional quality
  • Review formulas, calculations, references, and workbook logic
  • Identify broken formulas, inconsistent ranges, incorrect references, and calculation errors
  • Assess spreadsheet structure, organisation, and usability
  • Verify that outputs accurately reflect underlying data and assumptions
  • Review existing workbooks for maintainability and consistency
  • Identify outdated, redundant, or conflicting spreadsheet elements
  • Assess links, formulas, named ranges, tables, and supporting structures
  • Evaluate whether workbook updates have been applied consistently across relevant sheets
  • Identify maintenance issues that could affect future use or reliability
  • Review spreadsheet data for completeness and internal consistency
  • Identify missing, duplicated, incorrectly formatted, or conflicting values
  • Assess whether formulas and calculations use appropriate source data
  • Check relationships between inputs, calculations, and reported outputs
  • Evaluate whether spreadsheet results are logically supported by underlying information
  • Evaluate formulas for correctness and appropriate implementation
  • Identify calculation errors, hard-coded values, broken references, and inconsistent logic
  • Review dependencies across sheets and workbook sections
  • Assess whether calculations remain reliable when inputs change

  • Evaluate related spreadsheets, documents, and slide decks as an integrated set

  • Identify discrepancies between workbook outputs and accompanying documents or presentations
  • Assess whether reported findings are supported by spreadsheet calculations
  • Ensure information is communicated consistently across deliverables
  • Review supporting documents and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
  • Assess whether spreadsheet-derived figures have been transferred correctly
  • Identify inconsistencies between calculations and presented conclusions
  • Evaluate presentation structure, clarity, and visual quality
  • Verify that tables, charts, and summary metrics align with source workbooks
  • Evaluate assigned work products against spreadsheet and workbook quality criteria
  • Identify factual, analytical, calculation, formatting, and presentation errors
  • Distinguish substantive spreadsheet issues from minor cosmetic concerns
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments
