About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced engineering and manufacturing professionals with strong backgrounds in production, process engineering, manufacturing operations, or technical operations. This role focuses on reviewing professional engineering and manufacturing work products, including documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials. Selected experts will assess outputs for technical accuracy, analytical rigour, operational realism, and overall professional quality while providing clear, structured feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, technical operations, or a closely related engineering field
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Operations Engineer, or similar professional
  • Strong practical understanding of manufacturing processes and technical operations
  • Ability to evaluate engineering materials for technical accuracy, feasibility, and operational relevance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Native or professional fluency in English
  • Strong written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Engineering: Review manufacturing-related plans, analyses, and technical work products. Assess whether proposed approaches reflect realistic production environments. Evaluate manufacturing requirements, constraints, assumptions, and recommendations. Identify technical inconsistencies, unsupported conclusions, or impractical approaches. Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world manufacturing experience.
  • Process Engineering: Evaluate process designs, workflows, and improvement recommendations. Review operating assumptions, process steps, dependencies, and performance considerations. Identify inefficiencies, technical gaps, or inconsistent process logic. Assess proposed process improvements for feasibility and effectiveness. Evaluate whether conclusions are appropriately supported by available information.
  • Production & Technical Operations: Review materials involving production planning and technical operations. Assess operational workflows, resource considerations, and execution requirements. Evaluate whether proposed approaches are practical within engineering environments. Identify gaps affecting reliability, efficiency, or implementation. Apply practical judgement to technical and operational scenarios.
  • Engineering Analysis: Review engineering calculations, analyses, specifications, and supporting information. Assess technical assumptions and resulting conclusions. Identify factual, analytical, or logical errors. Evaluate engineering trade-offs and proposed recommendations. Determine whether work products demonstrate appropriate technical rigour.
  • Spreadsheet & Data Review: Review engineering and manufacturing spreadsheets for accuracy and consistency. Assess calculations, tables, metrics, assumptions, and supporting data. Identify calculation errors, discrepancies, or unsupported outputs. Evaluate whether quantitative results support stated conclusions. Maintain strong attention to detail across technical work products.
  • Document & Presentation Review: Review technical documents and presentation decks for clarity, accuracy, and professional quality. Assess structure, technical content, visual presentation, and information hierarchy. Identify discrepancies between underlying analysis and presented conclusions. Review charts, tables, and supporting information for accuracy. Evaluate whether technical findings are communicated effectively.
  • Structured Evaluation & Feedback: Assess assigned work products against domain-specific quality criteria. Identify substantive technical, operational, factual, and presentation issues. Distinguish material engineering concerns from minor editorial issues. Provide clear, structured written feedback. Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments.

Benefits
