About The Position

As a Sportsbook Clerk at MGM Springfield, you will assist guests in placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events worldwide. You will provide accurate, efficient help with wagering processes and contribute to a lively guest environment. The role involves writing and verifying wager tickets, handling and reconciling cash, paying winning tickets, explaining wagering rules, and supporting guest rewards and player tracking. The position is part-time, with a schedule of 12–24 hours per week and varied shifts that include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able and willing to work part-time, 12–24 hours per week, with varied shifts that include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Write, verify, and pay tickets for race and sports wagers in accordance with department policies and procedures and applicable gaming statutes and regulations.
• Maintain a cash bank during the assigned shift, accept payments, and provide correct change.
• Stock writer/cashier stations with supplies and keep stations neat and clean.
• Verify winning tickets and pay winning wagers accurately and promptly.
• Maintain and reconcile the assigned shift bank according to cash-handling policies and procedures.
• Explain wagering rules, betting lines, odds, and procedures to guests.
• Create and enter player tracking cards.
• Protect customer rewards and adhere to credit lines.
• Notify management of escalated or recurring guest issues and apparent suspicious activity.
