Part Time-Sportsbook Cashier
About The Position
The Sportsbook Cashier supports sports betting operations by providing customer service, selling tickets, placing wagers requested by guests, and accurately verifying and processing winning tickets and payouts. The role involves obtaining and maintaining a cash bank, documenting transactions, balancing the bank at the end of each shift, and completing required paperwork. The cashier follows company procedures and regulatory requirements, explains betting rules, assists guests, watches for unusual betting patterns, and reports concerns to a supervisor. The position also includes maintaining visibility in guest areas, protecting confidential information, and keeping the individual work area and Sportsbook clean. The posted schedule is Monday 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Tuesday 10:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Sunday 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are off.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license and satisfy all regulatory requirements.
- Customer service experience required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail experience is beneficial.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Experience in sports or online gaming is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Obtain a cash bank from the Sportsbook vault or casino cage.
- Maintain a cash bank, document transactions, balance the bank at the end of each shift, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Place wagers requested by guests and verify and process winning tickets and payouts.
- Ensure all information is accurately entered into the till and properly process voided wagers.
- Follow the Company's Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicate sports betting rules and provide betting assistance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Remain alert to unusual betting patterns, such as proxy betting, and promptly report them to the Supervisor.
- Maintain visibility in guest areas and promptly respond to guest questions and concerns.
- Stay aware of popular lines and odds in the Sportsbook.
- Comply with state and federal regulations.
- Safeguard confidential and privileged company information.
- Clean the individual work area and help maintain the Sportsbook's cleanliness.
