About The Position
WDAY is the number one station in the Fargo, North Dakota–Moorhead, Minnesota metro area, broadcasting across North Dakota, Western Minnesota, and Eastern South Dakota. It produces extensive live local sports coverage, including North Dakota State University Athletics and North Dakota High School Activities State Tournaments, as well as more than 40 hours of local news, weather, and sports content each week. WDAY is part of Forum Communications Company, a family-owned media company. The Sports Production/Creative Services position supports live production of Division I college sports, high school tournaments, and regular-season games. The role also develops client commercials and assists with shooting, editing, and directing internally produced shows, client broadcasts, station promotion, and other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work efficiently and make sound decisions under deadline pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust schedules to support sports broadcast schedules, staffing needs, or special events.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license; travel is required.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of broadcast, production, technical directing, or related experience.
Responsibilities
- Support live sports production, including technical directing, shooting, and other production duties.
- Perform technical direction and graphic operations for the televised sports program Hot Mic with Dom Izzo.
- Produce commercials, including commercial shoots, script writing, and video editing.
- Work with clients and the sales department to produce products based on project needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
