About The Position

The Sponsorship & Sales Manager for the West Virginia Black Bears is responsible for sponsorship and ticket sales, including season tickets, group packages, suites, and sponsorships. Sales are conducted through phone calls, face-to-face appointments, in-stadium meetings, and special events. The role also coordinates game-day promotional events, helps develop non-game-day events, assists with marketing, and oversees interns and game-day associates. The manager must be available to work at all West Virginia Black Bears home games.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred; an associate degree is accepted.
Strong desire to learn about the business and grow professionally.
Ability to express ideas effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to generate original and imaginative solutions to business opportunities.
Positive attitude and flexibility in work schedule.
Availability to work at all West Virginia Black Bears home games.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in sports.
Sales and account management experience.
Personable nature; hospitality work experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Sell sponsorships to new and existing clients.
Promote group sales to local businesses and organizations.
Sell tickets, particularly group packages and suites, using the ProVenue ticketing system.
Manage a portfolio of accounts by building and maintaining client relationships.
Help develop off-season and non-game-day events, including securing funding and sponsorship, planning, promotion, and execution.
Collaborate with the team to create new sponsorship sales ideas and inventory, promotions, and ticket packages.
Oversee game-day hospitality, including checking on suites and sponsors.
Assist with other game-day duties as needed.
Oversee interns and game-day associates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
