About The Position

The Sponsorship & Sales Manager for the West Virginia Black Bears is responsible for sponsorship and ticket sales, including season tickets, group packages, suites, and sponsorships. Sales are conducted through phone calls, face-to-face appointments, in-stadium meetings, and special events. The role also coordinates game-day promotional events, helps develop non-game-day events, supports marketing, and oversees interns and game-day associates. The manager must be available to work at all West Virginia Black Bears home games.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred; an associate’s degree is accepted.
Experience working in sports preferred.
Sales and account management experience preferred.
Personable; hospitality work experience is a plus.
Strong desire to learn about the business and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

Sell sponsorships to new and existing clients.
Promote group sales to local businesses and organizations.
Sell tickets, particularly group packages and suites, using the ProVenue ticketing system.
Manage a portfolio of accounts by building and fostering client relationships.
Help develop off-season and non-game-day events hosted by the West Virginia Black Bears, including acquiring funding or sponsorship, planning, promotion, and execution.
Collaborate with the team to create new ideas and inventory for sponsorship sales, promotions, and ticket packages.
Oversee game-day hospitality, including checking on suites and sponsors.
Assist with other game-day duties as needed.
Coordinate game-day promotional events, help with marketing, and oversee interns and game-day associates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
