About The Position
As a Per Diem Speech Pathologist with Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, you will provide skilled in-home evaluation and treatment for speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will partner with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to improve communication, safety, independence, and quality of life through personalized care. The role includes preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in adults, as well as providing aural rehabilitation and augmentative and alternative communication systems. Other duties may be assigned. The salary range is $74,376–$111,564 annually based on full-time employment; pay depends on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the state where assigned to work.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), with completed graduate coursework and clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
- Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities
- Prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders in adults.
- Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
