About The Position

Kona Medical Consulting is recruiting for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for TIBS for Kids in Virginia. This role involves assisting a Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language therapy services to children with identified speech and language disorders. The SLPA will engage in direct activities with students to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control, vocalization, and the use of assistive communication technology. This is a 12-month position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Communication Sciences
• Ability to Commute to the selected location
• Must have SLPA license/certification

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services.
• Completing a variety of tasks under the direction and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Engaging in direct activities with students designed to develop pre-language and language skills.
• Assisting with oral-motor control for speech production.
• Supporting vocalization development.
• Facilitating the use of assistive technology devices for communication.
• Serving children who have identified speech and language disorders and may have other disabilities.
