Specimen Processor- Full Time- 2nd Shift

About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner/Processor to join its team in San Antonio, Texas. The role serves as a liaison between the laboratory, clients, and patients, responding to customer requests and helping ensure specimens are accurately reviewed, identified, prepared, stored, and shipped for analysis. The position requires careful data entry, attention to detail, professional communication, and comfort handling biological specimens. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with daily overtime as needed and rotating Saturdays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

Current or prior Labcorp experience.
Associate degree or higher.
One year or more of medical or clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between the laboratory, clients, and patients.
Resolve internal and external customer requests through calls, instant messenger, and email.
Communicate with customers in a respectful and professional manner.
Use multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
Provide customer education and information as needed.
Review test forms for accuracy and report discrepancies.
Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
