About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated Specimen Processor I to join its Specimen Processing team in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The position performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The work supports accurate healthcare testing by preparing, identifying, routing, storing, and shipping specimens, as well as resolving and documenting problem specimens. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts, Wednesday through Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with rotating holidays. The pay range is $17.75 to $19.00 per hour. Job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of relevant experience in a laboratory/accessioning, production/manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
One or more years of medical or production experience.
Current or previous Labcorp experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.

Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
