About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Specialist II to join its team in Woodland Park, New Jersey. The position performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment onsite at a client office. The role supports the accurate preparation, identification, processing, and shipment of laboratory specimens, while helping resolve customer and specimen issues and meet department production goals. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Communicate effectively with client office staff.
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
Review requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and update missing items.
Perform spinning, freezing, splitting, and other special services as needed based on client requirements.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting.
