About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an onsite laboratory support clerk at Baptist Hospital-Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The role performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, data entry, and other specimen preparation tasks in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located at a client office. The position supports accurate laboratory testing and timely resolution of specimen and customer issues. The listed work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, or manufacturing.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Experience with MS Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or qualify for a medical or religious accommodation, subject to applicable law.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience.
At least 2 years of clinical specimen-handling experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Communicate effectively with client office staff.
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Review requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated.
Perform spinning, freezing, splitting, and other special services as needed based on client requirements.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry.
