About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner to perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The role is based in Columbus, Georgia, and involves preparing, identifying, routing, storing, and shipping laboratory specimens, as well as documenting and resolving specimen issues. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays and holidays. Labcorp describes opportunities for career growth and development. Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
