About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in New Castle, Delaware. The position performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The role supports the accurate preparation, identification, routing, storage, and shipment of laboratory specimens and helps ensure healthcare tests are processed correctly. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and every fourth Saturday. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits. Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
