About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Specimen Accessioner performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The work schedule is 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays. The role involves preparing and routing laboratory specimens, accurately identifying and labeling samples, and packing specimens for shipment to the appropriate testing facilities. The accessioner also enters patient information, prepares and stores excess samples, meets department activity and production goals, and resolves and documents problem specimens.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfortable handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized colorblindness test.

Nice To Haves

One year or more of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
