About The Position

The Specialty Server takes guest food and beverage orders, serves food, totals dining charges, and responds to special requests for dining amenities. The role provides a high level of customer service and promotes a positive attitude to create an entertaining experience for guests and team members.

The server maintains a professional appearance and follows company and department policies and service standards. They develop complete product knowledge, describe menu items, demonstrate basic wine, beer, and liquor knowledge, suggest pairings, present beverages, and professionally present wine tableside. They take and deliver orders, enter items into the POS system, accept and reconcile payments, and make recommendations to increase guest check averages as defined by management. They follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area. They also learn Hollywood movie memorabilia and describe restaurant displays with relevant details about actors and history. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a high school education.
• Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Must understand and speak English.
• Must be able to carry food trays of varying sizes weighing 30 pounds or more on one tray.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years of table service experience in a fine dining setting is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of wine, beer, and liquor; ability to suggest successful pairings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and interact professionally with guests and co-workers.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of Hollywood movie memorabilia and describe restaurant displays, actors, and history.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
