About The Position
Amgen is hiring a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for its Bone Health business. The territory covers Lorain, Elyria, and Euclid, Ohio; relocation is not offered. The representative serves as the primary customer contact, providing medical professionals with clinical knowledge of Amgen products and helping customers navigate the payer environment. The role implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager through in-person and virtual customer engagement. The position level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The position is open to candidates with varied backgrounds and experience levels.
Requirements
- Specialty Representative basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; or an associate degree and 4 years of sales experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Representative basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or an associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Nice To Haves
- Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative candidates, some experience, pre-graduate sales training, or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative candidates, 3 or more years of experience.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including relevant diseases and treatments.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate product utilization.
- Drive territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage customer accounts by tailoring discussions to customer needs, supporting product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of business and sales activities, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices with colleagues and pursue ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Show enthusiasm for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, build the company’s brand, and maintain focus on serving patients.
