About The Position
Amgen is hiring a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for its Bone Health sales team in the Toledo, Ohio area. The territory covers Bowling Green, Sandusky, and Perrysburg, Ohio. Relocation is not offered. The role serves as a primary customer contact, providing medical professionals with clinical knowledge about Amgen products and helping them navigate the payer environment. The representative implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager through in-person and virtual customer engagement. The position is open to candidates with different backgrounds and experience levels. The role level and title will be selected based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience relative to the geography. Requirements
- Specialty Representative: Bachelor's degree; or associate degree and 4 years of sales experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
- Adaptability in sales planning and organization, applying business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Nice To Haves
- Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative, some experience, pre-graduate sales training, or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative, 3 or more years of experience.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including related diseases and treatments.
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate product utilization.
- Achieve territory sales goals by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage account relationships by tailoring discussions to customer needs, supporting product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and support ongoing learning and development.
- Demonstrate sustained commitment to Amgen products and build the company’s brand throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient service in focus.
