About The Position
Amgen is hiring a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for its Bone Health sales role covering Memphis, Jackson, Collierville, and Germantown, Tennessee. Relocation is not offered. The position serves as a primary customer contact, providing medical professionals with clinical knowledge about Amgen products and helping them navigate the complex payer environment. The representative implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager. The role level and title will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience for the geography.
Requirements
- Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree; or associate degree and 4 years of sales experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
- Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Nice To Haves
- Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative: some experience, pre-graduate sales training, and/or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative: 3 or more years of experience.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including related diseases and treatments.
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization.
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage account relationships by tailoring discussions to customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Share best practices with colleagues and pursue continued learning and professional growth.
- Maintain enthusiasm for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, build the brand, and keep the company's commitment to serving patients in focus.
