About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Technician at the Proprium Pharmacy Fulfillment Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. The technician performs care delivery and medication dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. This position is listed as Flexi and works the first (day) shift. The technician fills and delivers medications, maintains adequate supplies for continuous patient care, triages and escalates issues outside the technician’s scope, processes patient information using appropriate systems, maintains quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements, and operates pharmacy equipment appropriately. Other duties may be assigned. A Virginia pharmacy technician license is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. CPhT certification and one year of pharmacy experience are preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Virginia pharmacy technician license required in the state of practice.
Nice To Haves
- CPhT certification through the NHA or PTCB.
- One year of pharmacy experience.
Responsibilities

- Ensure adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
- Triage and escalate questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice as needed.
- Use appropriate systems to process patient information.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
