About The Position

The Specialty Beauty Advisor – Clinique is responsible for maximizing sales of Clinique color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance by engaging guests, determining their needs, and assisting with merchandise selection and purchases. The advisor represents Ulta Beauty and Clinique, delivers exceptional guest service, maintains store standards, and supports the Experience Manager through sales performance, guest service, associate culture, operating procedures, and compliance.

The role includes makeup applications, skincare analysis, product demonstrations, booking and supporting appointments and in-store events, and building relationships with Clinique customers. The advisor stays informed about products, services, trends, ingredients, and promotions; participates in brand training; collaborates with store associates and managers; and helps maintain merchandise, testers, displays, and assigned areas according to company standards.

The schedule is flexible and includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequent mobility and standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting are required. The position also involves continuously lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and coordinating and manipulating objects. The listed pay range is $18.00–$28.00 per hour, with exact pay based on factors including qualifications and location.

Requirements

• Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Clinique brand sales and clientele goals and contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel, and retail shrink.
• Greet and engage guests, personalize service, offer samples, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events that deliver a strong guest experience and meet sales goals.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and a growing preferred customer list, and follow up on guest inquiries.
• Inform guests about current promotions, events, and services.
• Stay informed about products, services, trends, ingredients, and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests.
• Maintain relationships with Clinique brand partners through required training and execution of events and promotions.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing brand and category training and professional development.
• Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, standards, and the Ulta Beauty and Clinique dress code.
• Keep the assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and maintain testers according to hygiene standards.
• Maintain store operational standards and cleanliness in the Clinique area and other assigned areas.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing for Clinique.
• Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
