About The Position

The Specialist, Talent Acquisition & Recognition plays a key role within the Human Resources team, leading the full-cycle recruitment process for both unionized and non-unionized positions. This role is responsible for delivering a seamless and positive candidate experience, from initial contact through onboarding, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to meet organizational hiring needs.

Requirements

Three (3) years of hands-on, high volume recruitment experience
University Degree in Human Resources Management (or another Degree with a post Graduate Human Resources certificate)
Strong behavioural interviewing skills
Knowledge of applicable employment legislation
Knowledge of collective agreements
Proven ability to manage several competing priorities
A self starter who is committed to excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels
Thrive in a fast paced and collaborative environment
Continuous improvement mindset

Nice To Haves

A CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to provide service excellence
Being first point of contact for candidates and creating a positive interviewing and onboarding experience
Identifying the selection criteria and competencies, conducting interviews (in-person & virtually) and reference checks, extending offers of employment and negotiating total compensation
Managing the online applicant tracking system, including troubleshooting and updating process documentation
Managing the corporate internship program including developing relationships with Universities and Colleges
Developing and implementing the City’s recruitment and attraction strategy
Assisting with coordinating employee recognition programs
