About The Position
At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Loss Prevention supports a safe and secure store environment by executing loss prevention strategies and upholding operational standards. The role protects assets, supports teammates, and helps ensure policies are followed to maintain a trusted shopping experience for athletes. The specialist also contributes to an outstanding athlete experience through proactive engagement, product knowledge, sales recommendations, and support for store processes and standards. The position assists with training, merchandising, customer participation in company programs, and compliance with safety, loss prevention, and operating policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience.
- Adherence to policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and provide an outstanding shopping experience.
- Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment; anticipate athlete needs and recommend products and services to drive sales.
- Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and key operational processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and productivity.
- Execute processes efficiently while maintaining an athlete-first mindset; ensure products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged appropriately.
- Uphold merchandising and presentation standards, including floor set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
- Promote customer participation in company programs, including the loyalty program, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment.
- Maintain a welcoming and respectful store environment for teammates and athletes.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.
