About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Loss Prevention supports a safe and secure store environment by executing loss prevention strategies and upholding operational standards. The role protects company assets, supports teammates, and ensures policies are followed to maintain a trusted shopping experience for athletes.

The specialist also contributes to an outstanding athlete experience by engaging shoppers, sharing knowledgeable product information, anticipating needs, and recommending products and services. They help train teammates, support store processes, maintain merchandising standards, promote company programs, and foster a respectful and welcoming environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and deliver an outstanding experience.
• Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment; anticipate athlete needs and recommend products and services.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members in the role’s store area, including selling skills and operational processes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in designated process categories and support smooth execution and productivity.
• Execute processes efficiently while ensuring products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged appropriately.
• Uphold merchandising and presentation standards, including floor-set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
• Promote customer participation in company programs, including loyalty, warranty sales, and private-label credit card enrollment.
• Support a safe and secure store environment by executing loss prevention strategies and protecting assets.
• Follow company policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.
• Create a store environment where teammates and athletes are welcome and treated with respect.
