The Royal Caribbean Group’s Human Resources Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Specialist, Human Resources reporting to the Business Partner Sr, HR. The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida. The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, or business administration, or directly related human resources generalist experience.
  • Minimum of two years of generalist experience in human resources.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, SuccessFactors or other HRIS.
  • Exercises influence with business clients and HR COEs.
  • Persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical and conceptual thinking to drive objectivity and data-based decision making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to find alternative solutions to business inquiries.
  • Ensures a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Professional presence.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the initial point of HR generalist contact for front-line employees, managers, and external parties relating to the day-to-day management of the HR function.
  • Handles employee relations, policy interpretation and administration, compensation coordination and documentation, disciplinary actions, requests for information, administration of unemployment claims, systems transaction escalations, performance appraisal process, and internal correspondence.
  • Provides first-line HR support to the business, consulting on general HR questions, benefits inquiries, and interpreting the employee handbook and company policy.
  • Collaborates with managers and HRBP in the preparation of disciplinary actions and/or performance improvement plans, ensuring factual basis and appropriate documentation.
  • Maintains internal systems, including processing, position management, and opening requisitions. Pulls reports on the status of requisitions/positions and provides recommendations based on data.
  • Consults with business leaders regarding workforce changes such as terminations, reporting structure, location, and cost center changes, and is responsible for the system transactions for these changes.
  • Prepares materials for pulse survey reviews and consults with HRBP on trends and recommendations.
  • Acts as a change agent for HR transformation.
  • Prepares internal offer and promotion letters and retains documentation in employee files.
  • Participates in talent reviews, succession planning, engagement action planning, and other HR strategic initiatives.
  • Owns the new hire experience for assigned areas, providing onboarding support, facilitating department-specific new hire orientation, and conducting new hire check-ins.
  • Creates and maintains area-specific recognition programs and/or newsletters to support the employee experience.
  • Partners with centers of excellence and HRBPs to support brand/function strategy, diagnose needs, and execute on COE and business initiatives.
  • Conducts exit interviews and supports offboarding.
  • Performs any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
