About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist - Climbing Wall inspires athletes of all ages to explore climbing through dynamic routes and an engaging in-store experience. The role provides personalized instruction, supports a seamless shopping experience, and assists with parties, camps, and community events. The Specialist helps create memorable in-store adventures that promote athlete satisfaction and encourage return visits.

The position also delivers knowledgeable customer service and product recommendations, supports team member onboarding and training as a subject matter expert, and helps maintain efficient store operations and merchandising standards. The Specialist contributes to a welcoming environment and follows safety, loss prevention, and other established policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and deliver an outstanding experience.
• Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through product and service recommendations.
• Provide personalized climbing instruction and support parties, camps, and community events.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and operational processes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in designated process categories and support smooth execution and productivity.
• Execute store processes efficiently while maintaining an athlete-first mindset and ensuring products are ready for purchase.
• Uphold merchandising and presentation standards, including floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
• Promote customer participation in company programs, including loyalty programs, warranties, and private label credit card enrollment.
• Help create a welcoming and respectful environment for teammates and athletes.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, standard operating procedures, and applicable laws and external guidelines.
