The OpportunityMcDonald’s has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist, Accounting Operations. You will be part of a team that plays a critical role in the Canada Market to drive effective accounting operations. You will act as the day-to-day accounting partner in the Market for the third-party provider performing accounting operational activities. The ideal candidate will be able to execute the accounting processes swiftly, bringing a strong technical aptitude and process and continuous improvement mindset. The candidate is expected to work out of the Toronto office. This posting is for a new role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting operations, financial processing, or related roles
  • Proven ability to successfully work with third-party provider(s).
  • Demonstrates experience in customer – focused approach with commitment to delivering high-quality service and support to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in applying continuous improvement to processes to drive efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills:
  • Ability to follow standardized processes and work under tight deadlines managing multiple key business priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or local equivalent) or progress toward certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the assistant financial controller in addressing escalations and efficiently completing triage activities.
  • Support month-end and yearend close activities, including preparation and review of supporting documentation
  • Assist with transaction processing, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Execute and support delivery of controllership activities (e.g., A2R, P2P, R2R, etc.) with precision.
  • Perform and support accounting, audit, and tax activities that require in-Market presence.
  • Support the escalation process for issues, disputes, and approvals within Scaled Services.
  • Act as the day-to-day accounting partner in the Market for third-party provider performing accounting operational activities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of the work coming out of the third-party provider.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for the Canada market finance team and corporate leaders, ensuring effective communication and support.
