About The Position

Block by Block CA is seeking friendly Ambassadors to enhance public spaces, making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner. With a significant presence across California, the company offers opportunities for career growth, as evidenced by a high percentage of management staff who started as Ambassadors. The role involves working outdoors, staying active, and contributing to the improvement of important public spaces. Ambassadors act as local caretakers, professionally representing the company and its customers, ensuring public spaces are well-maintained, and taking ownership of the experience of everyone who uses these areas.

Requirements

Must have a driver's license.
Must have a clean MVR.
Must have the physical capacity to stand and move continuously during an eight-hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen-minute breaks and one thirty-minute meal break).
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

Circulate through assigned work zones in the work area completing manual and/or mechanical cleaning of needed items or spaces.
Operate large hot water power unit to clean sidewalks or plazas, street furniture, or any other areas in need of deep cleaning.
Operation of large litter vacuums to sweep up litter, debris or leaves.
Be a visible presence and have friendly interactions with the people in the public space we serve.
Use a simple smart phone app to report normal activities and maintenance reports.
