The Special Education Teacher will provide instruction to students in assigned areas, prepare for and participate in IEP and evaluation meetings, maintain accurate student records, and follow the Tennessee curriculum standards and local course of study. This role involves maintaining positive relationships with parents and the community, reporting any suspicions of child abuse or neglect, and adhering to the Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics. The teacher will also participate in staff development, administer assessments, and plan instructional lessons appropriate for individual student needs. Other duties include projecting a positive image of the Cannon County School District, maintaining confidentiality, and acting in a professional manner. The teacher will work under the direct guidance of the classroom teacher unless otherwise assigned and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Supervisor of Exceptional Learning, and/or Director of Schools.
