Special Education Paraeducator II
About The Position
Paraeducators provide instructional support and deliver other direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position at Clara Barton-Hawthorne Elementary School, scheduled for nine months, Monday through Friday. The position is available immediately. Salary ranges from $18.61 to $23.08 per hour. Additional education and/or experience may be required for specific aide positions. Some positions are supported by Title I funds and require additional education or certification; for a Title I position, Title I Paraprofessional Certification is required before hire or work with students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians.
- Basic academic and computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working or volunteering in a school setting.
- Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Associate degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field.
- Experience as a direct support professional, personal care aide, CNA, or in a similar position.
- For Title I positions, Title I Paraprofessional Certification is required prior to hire or work with students.
