About The Position
A Paraeducator II provides instructional support and other direct services to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee. The role is generally assigned to students with significantly disabling conditions, including cognitive, behavioral, and/or significant medical impairments. The position is full-time, benefits eligible, and follows a nine-month schedule, Monday through Friday. The role is based at Discovery Middle School, with immediate availability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Basic academic and computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working or volunteering in a school setting.
- Experience working with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Associate degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a similar field.
- Experience as a direct support professional, personal care aide, CNA, or in a similar position.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students under the direction of a certified teacher or other licensed employee.
- Deliver other direct services to students.
- Work with students who have significantly disabling conditions, including cognitive, behavioral, and/or significant medical impairments.
