About The Position

The spa cosmetologist is responsible for providing various services to clients as stated in the spa menu in accordance with the protocols for individual treatments. This role also ensures that treatment and service areas are kept clean and meet universal spa industry sanitation standards. The position requires compliance with all guest service basics, such as uniforms, name tags, and proper guest greetings. The cosmetologist should be knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate and ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand, and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices, and regulations. The goal is to exceed guest expectations with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

Requirements

  • Current NH Cosmetology license.
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of guest services and retail inventory.
  • Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of being able to perform cosmetic services, including but not limited to standing, bending and fluid use of arms and hands utilized to perform necessary nail, make-up, waxing and hair services.
  • Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment.
  • While performing job duties, the associate speaks, listens, completes documents, processes requests, and operates office equipment such as a telephone, calculator, computer, copier, and fax.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in the medical, salon or spa industry is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Begin and end all treatments on time.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the first appointment.
  • Check schedule and plan the day.
  • Prepare all necessary product set-ups for treatments.
  • Provide manicure/pedicure services, make-up services, and hair services to spa guests.
  • Understand and use universal precautions.
  • Have complete knowledge of all spa services, packages, promotions, and retail products offered by the spa.
  • Use and portion products as directed.
  • Educate guests and recommend products for home use.
  • Suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
  • Educate oneself on the ingredients of products used.
  • Complete all assigned side work.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
  • Keep work areas clean and set according to procedures.
  • Assist with laundry and other housekeeping duties.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Inform Spa Director of product needs.
