About The Position

The Sorter/Separator sorts incoming merchandise into specified classifications to support store productivity and increase sales. The position examines merchandise for sellability, discards items determined to be non-sellable, and places sellable items in bins for pricing. Items whose sellability is debatable are referred to the pricer for a decision. The sorter is responsible for meeting timelines and production goals, keeping the work area clean and organized, and maintaining the flow of product through the workstation. Other duties and special assignments may be assigned, including work outside the primary area of employment.

• Ability to push or pull clothing racks weighing up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort incoming merchandise.
• Examine merchandise to determine whether it is sellable or non-sellable.
• Discard non-sellable merchandise before it reaches the pricer’s table.
• Refer merchandise with debatable sellability to the pricer for determination.
• Place sellable items in the bin for the pricer to price.
• Meet timelines and production goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for safety and efficient production.
• Ensure product flows into and out of the workstation.
• Perform other duties and special assignments as directed, including assignments outside the primary area of employment.
