About The Position

Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities at a technical level that produces high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures, typically requiring general supervision. Specializes in ultrasound diagnostic studies and supports patient comfort and confidence throughout examinations.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of medical sonography.
• Registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound diagnostic studies.
• Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster comfort and confidence and meet individual patient needs.
• Operate and maintain assigned ultrasound scanning equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Position patients, select appropriate transducers and machine settings, and conduct scanning procedures to capture images requested by a physician.
• Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
• Comply with The Joint Commission and federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
