About The Position

Gecko Robotics is seeking a Solutions Engineer, Power, to lead customer deployments from kickoff through go-live. The role combines plant systems knowledge with hands-on software configuration, asset data validation, and customer coordination to ensure the platform accurately reflects each facility. The Solutions Engineer helps industrial operators trust and use the software by setting up sites correctly, explaining the engineering reasoning behind configuration decisions, and training users. The position is based in Gecko’s New York City or Pittsburgh office and requires 25% to 50% travel to customer sites. Gecko describes its culture as office-first, with some flexibility to work from home. The role serves as a technical point of contact across customer sites, coordinates deployments and adoption, validates facility data against engineering documentation, tests configurations and workflows, and shares field feedback with software engineering.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial operations, maintenance, or plant systems work, including work where data accuracy was non-negotiable.
  • Fluency in reading engineering drawings and explaining system function, design intent, and operating considerations to guide accurate software configuration.
  • Experience building or maintaining accuracy-critical plant data, such as CMMS or EAM master data (SAP PM, Maximo, JDE, or similar), DCS-to-historian tag mapping, or loop-check or instrument index verification.
  • Experience integrating large-scale industrial software, such as SCADA/HMI platforms, data historians, or plant information systems.
  • Strong attention to detail when checking equipment tags, asset relationships, and software configurations against plant documentation.
  • A thorough approach to investigating discrepancies, understanding their causes, and correcting them or involving the appropriate team.
  • Strong organization across multiple customer deployments, including tracking requirements, milestones, follow-ups, and risks through completion.
  • Sound judgment when working with incomplete information, asking focused questions, and explaining configuration decisions.
  • Clear communication with plant operators, engineers, and corporate leaders, including knowing when to involve Engineering or the commercial team.
  • Willingness to use AI tools in daily work and verify their outputs for accuracy.
  • Ability to travel 25% to 50% of the time to customer sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Background working directly with industrial customers through deployment, field service, applications engineering, account management, or technical training.
  • Hands-on field experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or system walkdowns using P&IDs and electrical one-lines.
  • Ability to write code or control logic and explain how components interact within complex systems and where problems can arise.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical point of contact across a portfolio of customer sites, leading configuration, deployment, and user training.
  • Ensure deployments meet customer expectations and agreed product requirements; define and track success metrics and support adoption.
  • Resolve configuration and deployment issues, keep customers informed, and involve Engineering or the commercial team when appropriate.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, user training, and structured feedback sessions.
  • Launch customer sites from kickoff through go-live by coordinating requirements, timelines, and risks, and improving deployment playbooks.
  • Configure the software and build and validate site asset data against plant engineering documentation.
  • Apply and refine tagging conventions, naming standards, and asset data taxonomy, resolving inconsistencies across sites.
  • Test configurations and workflows in development and production environments, report software issues with clear reproduction steps, and verify deployment quality before customer milestones.
  • Use plant systems knowledge to validate software outputs, investigate incorrect or misleading results, and explain configuration decisions.
  • Turn field learnings into clear, prioritized feedback and serve as a resource on plant systems and operations for the software engineering team.
